Athletes require precise use of their bodies. Changes in strength and movement patterns can create compensation in other parts of the body, contributing to muscular difficulties.
Due to the intense physical activity involved and required, the athlete can be prone to injury.
Training effects and precise muscle function need care and attention and are especially important prior to competition.
Common ailments are over-extension, muscle soreness, delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS), stiffness, cramps and spasms, muscle guarding, knocks and strains. Prevention of injury or evaluation and assessment of injuries can be of great assistance in the reconditioning of an athletic injury. It can be used to fine tune, specific to sport and help to function efficiently and freely.
Treatment is stimulating and more superficial focusing on muscles used specific to event. It is general and creates a sense of well being, great preparation for both mind and body.
To help with recovery after competition, main focus is helping the body restore balance. It reduces muscle tension, minimizes swellings and soreness and encourages relaxation after a taxing event.
Regular treatments allow the body to function with fewer restrictions and accelerate recovery time, also reduces risk of injury. It can be used in conjunction with training schedules to get maximum results and benefits. The bio-mechanics and discipline of the individual are taken into consideration.
Minor to moderate injuries, deeper work, helps to reduce immobility in other areas put under strain due to the other injury therefore avoiding compensatory patterns which can become a problem of their own. Important part of the recovery process to maintain or rebuild strength and flexibility and can help reduce stress.
Cleome is not the easiest horse to deal with as she is a very sensitive mare with major head issues. At times you can not even put a bridle on her and Emma has such patience with her and slowly works away and by the end of the treatment, Cleo is so relaxed.
It is a true loss to the horse world with Emma moving to Singapore. I know Cleome and I and many others with be struggling without her to treat our horse and riders.
Emma has a lovely confident but quiet manner when working with the horses and is easy to communicate with when explaining the issues we may be having.
Emma has great skills and understanding and due to that we have seen horses improve and amazing results, I can 100% recommend her services.
